Hope for Humanity Award

Past Recipients

2009 Recipient Jaci VanHeest '84

In the spirit of Hope athletics, the Board of Directors of the H-Club at Hope College has established an award recognizing service above self among the H-Club community. The award is appropriately named "H-Club Hope For Humanity."

From values learned from cheering gyms and stadiums to silent early morning workouts, the "H-Club Hope for Humanity" award is presented to those Hope College alumni athletes, the unsung heroes and heroines, who have demonstrated the values of Christian commitment and service to others in their careers after Hope. The score for the "H-Club Hope for Humanity" award is measured not so much in wins or losses or career high points, but in changed lives of others through servanthood and a consistency of Christian commitment.

The H-Club Board of Directors is seeking nominations for this award. We need your help in identifying nominees that have put service above self without regard for reward and have demonstrated these Christian values to others. If you know of former Hope College athletes who deserve this honor, please fill out the form below.

Nominations are accepted year-round and the award recipient selection process begins in February of the year that the award is given.
