    Chemistry Lecture with Dr. W. Jack Kruper

    Dr. W. Jack Kruper, a Hope parent, will share experiences from a career with Dow Chemical. Dr. Kruper has worked at Dow for three decades. He earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Michigan, Dearborn, and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the university’s Ann Arbor campus. He holds 62 U.S. patents and has published 26 peer-reviewed papers.

An event center will be located at the Knickerbocker Theatre where you can listen to live music, relax, and enjoy appetizers.     The Homecoming 50K Bike Ride has been cancelled for this year.

    Hope is well known for a national reputation in the natural and applied sciences. Now you can experience it first hand with your children. Families with children ages 5 – 17 are welcome to participate together in these engaging activities led by Hope students and faculty. Stop by any time between 10am and 12pm. Drop in rooms divided by age groups. Chemistry demo at 11am. This event is free, but to ensure enough materials, we encourage pre-registration by sending children’s names and ages to sciencecamp@hope.edu.

    A Taste of the South is back! Hosted by President John and Kelly Knapp, this special Homecoming event features the sounds and flavors of Memphis. Hope’s National Mortar Board will host a children’s book drive at halftime and the Hope-Geneva Bookstore will be on site with Hope hats, sweatshirts, shirts, etc. The student and alumni chapel choir will perform the alma mater at halftime. A special collection of photos, news clippings and information about the 1984 team is available here.

    As part of a series of events celebrating Hope's campus ministries, both past and present, Ben Patterson will speak at this Homecoming Gathering. Rev. Patterson is the Campus Pastor at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He served as Dean of the Chapel at Hope from 1993 to 2000. He is a contributing editor to "Christianity Today" and "Leadership Journal".
