    Alumni of all ages are invited to return to campus for Homecoming, an annual Hope tradition. Experience Hope through alumni events, campus tours, athletics, arts, the annual 5K, and more. Mark your calendar to connect with the people and places that made Hope special for you.

    Chemistry Lecture with Dr. W. Jack Kruper

    Dr. W. Jack Kruper, a Hope parent, will share experiences from a career with Dow Chemical. Dr. Kruper has worked at Dow for three decades. He earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Michigan, Dearborn, and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the university’s Ann Arbor campus. He holds 62 U.S. patents and has published 26 peer-reviewed papers.

    Great Performance Series Concert: Sweet Honey in the Rock

    Sweet Honey In The Rock is a performance ensemble rooted in African American history and culture and is performing on campus as part of Hope’s Great Performance Series. Tickets are available at hope.edu/gps. Learn more about the ensemble at www.sweethoneyintherock.org.

    Saturday, October 18

    Hope 50K Bike Ride
    Ray and Sue Smith Stadium
    8:00 AM

    The 50K (31 miles) Bike Ride is a guided ride. The ride is open to everyone as long as they are wearing a helmet, have working brakes on their bike, and subscribe to always riding safe and legal, watching out for each other and sharing the road. This is a recreational ride, not a race, but the average speed for each of the two rides is 16-18 mph and 20+ mph. There will be a packet pickup event on Friday at 6:30 PM at a location to be determined.

    Participants enjoy a light breakfast, refreshments, a performance t-shirt, chip timing, and a fun finish on the new turf at Ray & Sue Smith Stadium! There will be door prizes and performance prizes by age and gender. There will be a packet pickup event on Friday at 6:30 PM at a location to be determined.

    Watch the Flying Dutchmen take on Olivet at the recently renovated Ray and Sue Smith Stadium. The undefeated 1984 Hope football team will be honored prior to the game and will be joined by other H-Club members at a special VIP tent during the first half and halftime. Hope’s National Mortar Board will host a children’s book drive at halftime and the Hope-Geneva Bookstore will be on site with Hope hats, sweatshirts, shirts, etc. The student and alumni chapel choir will perform the alma mater at halftime.

    As part of a series of events celebrating Hope's campus ministries, both past and present, Ben Patterson will speak at this Homecoming Gathering. Rev. Patterson is the Campus Pastor at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He served as Dean of the Chapel at Hope from 1993 to 2000. He is a contributing editor to "Christianity Today" and "Leadership Journal".
