It’s hard to host a weekend for tons of visitors without a little help from our friends! There are a variety of ways to volunteer as part of Homecoming Weekend. After learning about the various opportunities, please complete the volunteer sign-up form below.
Promotional Volunteer Opportunities
Write postcards to classmates
Don’t let any of your old friends miss out on this great weekend! Personalized postcards are a great way to drive event attendance – help us spread the word by addressing a few to your friends. Hope will provide all the materials you need.
Make phone calls and/or write emails to classmates
Similar to writing postcards, any personal attention drives interest in Homecoming! Hope can provide you with a list from your class year (and those around your year) based on academic major, athletics, greek life, etc.
Generate support for The Hope Fund
Team up with other alumni and Hope's Director of the Hope Fund to generate support for this important annual effort raising financial support that has an immediate impact on today's Hope students.
Underwrite/sponsor a Homecoming event
Corporations are welcome to get involved with a variety of events, making them more affordable to alumni guests and generating visibility for our partners.
Serve as a Social Media Champion
Do you enjoy using social media to stay connected? Do you spend time on Facebook and/or Twitter as part of your daily routine? Would you be willing to take a few minutes each week during the months of August - October to help Hope College promote Homecoming? If so, then we want YOU to be part of our Social Media Champions group!
Event Volunteer Opportunities
Friday Night Parties
Help with welcome table and registration at the Party at the Park (Class years 2003 – 2013) or the Bash at Baker (Class years 1988 – 2002).
5K Run/50K Bike Event
Help on the course or at registration.
We host a hospitality center in DeWitt throughout the weekend for alumni to relax, participate in some fun, get questions answered, etc. You can help volunteer at the center and host.
This will be one big party in the Pine Grove. You can volunteer to get involved as we host guests on campus to celebrate Homecoming and Inauguration.
Event Assistant for Friday Night Parties (two will be selected)
A great opportunity for someone looking to build their resume in event planning. Help our event planning staff leading up to the event and on event day. This opportunity is only available for two alumni selected from those that express interest.
Serve as Class Memory Coordinator
Connect with and invite former faculty to Friday Night Parties, collect photos to use at events, design personalized name tags, compile play lists specific to your era, etc.
