2012 Alumni Awards
The 2012 Alumni Awards will be presented at the Annual Alumni Banquet on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARDS
Everett Nienhouse ’58 has devoted most of his life to helping students attain academic achievement beyond their dreams. He taught at Ferris State, Dartmouth, Montana State, and the University of Colorado, as well as around the world. He has over 100 scholarly publications and presentations to his name. Dr. Nienhouse participated in the first Vienna Summer School program and has been involved with Hope ever since.
Glenn ’64 and Jackie Nyboer ’67 Van Wieren have impacted the lives of countless students through teaching, coaching and volunteering. Glenn served as professor of Kinesiology and is one of the winningest coaches in NCAA Division III history. Jackie made her mark teaching and coaching in West Michigan. Together they have served Hope and the greater Holland community by giving of their time in a variety of ways.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
Tom Renner ’67 over a period of six decades has coordinated the public, community and media relations programs at Hope. He was the first editor of “News from Hope College”, helped establish the college website and serves as college photographer at many events. Since joining the staff in 1967, he has also been sports information director. He will be sharing this award with his family for their unique devotion to their father’s “work”.

All Hope alumni are invited to this celebration. Highlights include the presentation of the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Awards, as well as recognition of the Class of 1962. Dr. and Mrs. Bultman will speak at this event, their last Alumni Banquet in their leadership roles at the college.
The Hope-Geneva Bookstore, located in the lower level of the DeWitt Student Center, will be open on April 27 from 8:30 am to 5 pm and on April 28 from 11 am to 4 pm.
